Cristiano Burani SS19: Flemish Revolution

The reinterpretation of Flemish portraiture combines the austerity of the past with Los Angeles street style. Revolutionary treatments create graphic effects on precious fabrics and give an “urban” and “contemporary” look.

Over volume shoulders, highlighted waist and focus on legs with deep splits on midi length skirts. As abstract designs, the innovative hand made treatments on silk taffetas, in monochromatic and intentionally wrong combinations in the total look, make each garment unique and unseen.

Lilac and nude tie-dye effects on long silk satin t-shirts are draped and closed by asymmetrical knots. Hand-painted leather with yellow and fuchsia neon polish on fitted garments and structured accessories looks like modern graffiti.

Over hooded cashmere coats and sleeveless vests in neutral tones are enriched by lightweight plastic macro zip. Crochet hand-embroidered polyurethane high collars, as modern ruffs, give an elegant and noble attitude to each outfit.
