At this year’s Corporate Art Awards, Ferragamo has been granted the award “Art Bonus” thanks to its restoration project for the Fountain of Neptune in Piazza della Signoria, Florence (Italy). As a matter of fact, the Florence-based fashion house has been giving 1.5 million euro from 2016 to 2018, year when the restoration works are expected to be concluded. The works will not only be executed on the marble and bronze sections of the monument, but also on the hydraulic system.
“This is certainly one of the main restoration works ever realised with the Art Bonus in the last years across Italy” -, Luca Desiata, teacher of Corporate Art at LUISS Business School in Rome, and curator of the programme entitled “Mecenati del XXI secolo” (Art Patrons of the Twenty-First century) has commented: “One of the world’s most renown symbols of Renaissance’s Florence will come back to its original splendour thanks to this collaboration between public and private organizations. It is an example of synergy and teamwork, to be followed for the enhancement of the Italian national heritage“.
