On July 6th, the first, entirely-digital Paris Fashion Week has been opened up with the sponsorship of the Fédération de la Haute Couture et de la Mode.
As usual, the event opening has been assigned to the long-established Maison Schiaparelli, which has presented its new “Collection Imaginaire” for the next Fall-Winter 2020-2021 season.
The very name of this Haute Couture collection, which has been run under the creative direction of Daniel Roseberry, is not casual at all; it does indeed include imagined pieces of clothing and works that are still today unrealizable because of the Covid-19 pandemic and the subsequent, unexpected lockdown of production activities.
The presentation video describes a typical day for the designer Daniel Roseberry, who has been forced to remain in New York with no possibility of working with his team. It’s about him and his own imagination.
So, on a Monday’s morning, he has woken up, he has worn a face mask and he has headed towards the park in Washington Square where he has started to design his Haute Couture collection.
“Everything has changed, but the desire of creating has never been so strong and profound! The collection is a celebration of this creative drive”.
