Trakatan: Bruno Munari inspirer for SS 2018 collection

For the last edition of the White Show taking place from 17th to 19th of June, Trakatan – a Turin-based Italian brand – has presented its new S/S 2018 collection entitled “Tutto quadro | Tutto tondo”, which has been inspired by one of the greatest protagonists of Italian arts and design: Bruno Munari. Within the framework of an experimentation initiative in search for imperfection, the Unisex Spring/Summer 2018 collection is created by taking inspiration from an exclusive combination of geometry, arts and design in accessories characterized by contemporary lines.

The unmistakeable style of this brand plays with forms, and it is capable of breaking the rules by making linear and symmetrical elements imperfect and irregular. The new hand screen-printed texture is the main feature for this collection, and it depicts a grid of repeated small checks. The print with gold covering paint is applied to fabrics in a canvas which is 100% raw cotton. Before being printed, fabrics are hand painted and bleached, and then sun dried.

The classical TRAKATAN volumes are re-proposed in the remaining models in a palette of colours that takes inspiration from different tones and dyes: the blue, from the electric bluette to the indigo blue, is applied to leatherette and soft suede Nabuk, while the brown is presented in caramel tones in soft lamb leather tanned in eco leather and printed in a interweaving of small checks.

The traditional unmissable processing of eco-leather by TRAKATAN is also present in a series of bags in soy and blue navy colours, internally structured and in waxed fabric, including a pochette and a removable sachet.
